How to use tags and folders to organize links?
SUMMARY- This section is only for master account holders and sub-users transitioning to the latter.
- Learn how to assign tags to links and put them into corresponding folders simultaneously.
- Understand how pane filters work.
1. Looking at the "Manage URLs"
- Tags are link labels.
- You can apply one or multiple tags to a link.
- Folders hold tags or other folders (which we call nesting).
- You can move and rename tags and folders.
- Retargeted tags show up as underlined.
- The only difference between retargeted and other tags is that the former contains special codes.
- Our tag and folder management can range from simple to complex, depending on your needs. Organize by campaign, date, name, etc.
- Links unassigned to a folder automatically go into our "All URLs" container.
2. Assigning tags to links
- Create the folders you want to work with and the new tags from the tag and folder navigation pane.
- Then, still in the navigation pane, click the pencil icon alongside the tag to edit it.
- The box that opens shows and allows you to pick from your pre-existing folders. Think of this as choosing and placing a tag into a folder.
- Please note: The tags will appear inside when you click to open or close folders.
- Assign by selecting (i.e., check-marking) the URL or multiple URLs to be tagged:
- Select one page at a time with a check box at the top.
- After selecting URLs, click the tag icon in the actions bar at the top to bring up a list of your pre-existing tags. Pick from the latter.
3. How the navigation pane "Filters" work:
- These are default or special folders.
- Send Stats: Links marked with this option will deliver a once-a-day email with the updated click data.
- Monitor Links: Links marked with this option enable us to monitor the destination URL. If we detect downtime, we'll notify you by email.
- Zero Clicks: These are all your never visited short links.
- Protected: These links are protected from accidental deletion.
- Archived: Links in this container disappear from your Manage Page but are easily retrievable.
- Smart Links: Links with activated Smart Link routing.
